Alanya is a resort town on the Turkish Riviera, about 130 km east of Antalya Airport. The smaller Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport is roughly 40 km from the centre. The town is known for its castle peninsula, Cleopatra Beach and a long coastline with residential complexes directly by the sea – and for one of the largest international communities on the Turkish coast, with many residents from Germany, Scandinavia and other European countries.

What kind of property is typical?
Most offers in Alanya are apartments in complexes with pool, fitness area, security and on-site management, ranging from compact 1+1 apartments (one bedroom and living room) to duplex penthouses. Many buyers use them as a holiday home and rent them out part of the year; others live in Alanya permanently. Off-plan projects often include an interest-free payment plan until completion.
Buying in Alanya as a foreigner
Citizens of most countries can buy property in Alanya in their own name. You need a Turkish tax number and usually a local bank account; the title deed (tapu) is transferred at the land registry office in Alanya.
