Buying property in Bodrum
The Bodrum peninsula on the Aegean coast of Muğla is Türkiye’s best-known premium destination: white houses, many bays, marinas and a lively summer season. Milas-Bodrum Airport is on the mainland, about 35 km from Bodrum town. Property here is mostly villas and smaller complexes with sea views – prices are among the highest on the Turkish coast.
The areas
- Yalıkavak – with its large marina, the most international and exclusive area.
- Gümüşlük – a quieter village known for fish restaurants and sunsets.
- Türkbükü and Göltürkbükü – stylish bays in the north of the peninsula.
- Bitez, Ortakent and Turgutreis – family-friendly areas with beaches and year-round life.
- Torba, Gündoğan and Konacık – close to Bodrum town; Konacık is popular for living all year.
Buying in Bodrum as a foreigner works the same way as elsewhere in Türkiye: a Turkish tax number, a bank account and the title deed transfer at the land registry. See our guides on the buying process and purchase costs.
